Kefalonia is located in the western of Greece in the Ionian sea, and though the largest (781 sq.km) of the Ionian Islands (and sixth largest in Greece), it is perhaps the most unknown although for us, the inhabitants, the most beautiful!
Some historians say that Kefalonia got its name from Kefalos, who was the first King of the Island. Through the ages there have been many conquerors of the Ionian Islands: The Romans, the Franks, the Turks, the Venetians, the French and finally the British who came to Kefalonia in 1809 and left the Island in 1864 after the Ionian Islands were united with the rest of Greece.
Argostoli, which is located in the south of the Island, is the capital of Kefalonia.
The climate is Mediterranean and therefore relatively mild. Winters, though rainy, are sorted, whilst summers are long and hot; this gives visitors and residents alike, ideal conditions to enjoy the island all year long: sandy beaches, beautiful scenery, and dramatic mountains. The perfect combination of mountains, sea, climate, beautiful landscape and the hospitable nature of the inhabitants creates a paradise for visitors and a perfect place to live.
As well as the natural attractions of the island, which includes caves and underground lakes, monasteries, the Lagoon Koutavos, the stone bridge of Argostoli, castles, there are also interesting archaeological sites and two excellent museums in Argostoli, the Archaeological Museum and the Folklore Museum.
Lagoon View apartments and studios are located only 5.5km from Apgostoli and Lassi, and 1,5km from Lakithra.
Come, visit our island; you may well fall in love with it!!!
